We give our customers two options for their furniture purchases. One is a customer take, also called a customer pick up, and the other is our Standard Delivery service which is also called White Glove in the industry further broken down into two categories. Jackson Furniture Gallery sells furniture and bringing quality furniture to the public is the major part of what we do every day. Our dedication to our showroom in North Carolina clearly displays this vow of quality furniture by proper display of quality manufactured goods, providing a wide range of good, better, and best furniture products in a side by side comparison, and giving the consumer product material to make educated buying decisions. Our goals as a fast friendly furniture store are sometimes questioned by out of state buyers who never visit our stores and look for ways to save monies through cheap furniture delivery options. We no longer offer the Cheapest Delivery options on the market due to the poor service they provide and thus the negative impact they have on our business. Please review Our Delivery options as well as other delivery information on todays market and make your choice according to your needs.
Customer take, or Customer Pick Up is when the customer makes their own arrangements of taking their furniture from one of our showrooms or warehouses. We can transfer your furniture to the closest facility free of charge to help you. You are welcome to be present at the time of your furniture pick up but are not required to. We do require you to authorize us to release your furniture to a third party if you are not going to be present. As a consumer this means you are not Locked into using our delivery service. You are welcomed to shop around for the best fit for your needs and price.
Standard delivery, or White Glove deliveries are classified as deliveries where the furniture delivery is scheduled with the customer, brought into the home, placed in the designated room for the customer, and includes insurance against damages, both delivery accidents and manufacturer defects. This type of service is the best service on the market and is typically the most expensive. Our White Glove deliveries are categorized as Local and Shipping. Local means we are doing the White Glove delivery on our own trucks and our own delivery crew. Local deliveries are within North Carolina and are charged as a Per Stop fee. Shipping White Glove delivery fees are based upon the weight of the furniture, the per 100 pound Dollar Rate to your State, and the National Fuel Cost average.
Following are some terms you may find online and options provided by other furniture dealers that we do not provide:
Free Delivery, also known as Back of Truck. This type of delivery means after all of the paying customers have been loaded and there is enough room to squeeze your furniture onto the truck for they just so happen to be going by your neighborhood they will load your furniture. The delivery does not include any labor to unload your furniture, no set up, no scheduling, and no insurance to cover damages. This type of delivery is most often used to gain a committment from the customer for purchasing and then after months of waitting for their Free Delivery the customer is upgraded to a paid delivery.
Curbside Delivery, also known as drop off. This type of delivery carries a small charge to the consumer and includes the truck scheduling a day of arrival. The truck pulls up to the closest part of the home and will wait for you to unload the furniture. The driver of the truck is responsible for moving your furniture to the back of the truck where you move it to the ground and then to your home. The drivers responsibility for the furniture stops after the furniture is removed from the back of the truck. There is no insurance against damages, no set up, and no help in getting the furniture into your home.
Threshold Delivery, sometimes confused with White Glove is a paid delivery very close in costs to White Glove but does not include set up. This type of delivery is scheduled to your home and the delivery crew brings yourr furniture to the first room of your home or to your garage. The first room of your home means the first room that opens into from your door. Some may refer to this room as a hallway or foyer. There is no set up or insurance against damages. Items are often left boxed with no right of inspection for the consumer.
Why so many delivery options and why do they sometimes look deceptive online when you are shopping? The fact is that furniture delivery is not cheap. There are real costs in delivering furniture across the United States. There are the costs of Fuel, the Trucks used to deliver, the two man crew that is doing the deliveries who are on the road for weeks at a time, and the insurance to conduct this type of business. Service also plays a major cost in the delivery process and fees. Most furniture goods today are imported with very poor quality control and by the time your furniture arrives to you it easily has over two months of travel and man hours attached to it. If you want the best service and the best trouble free transaction that does not equate to the cheapest prices you are in the right spot. Jackson Furniture Gallery highly recommends shopping for a fair price on your furniture but absolutely do not settle for cut rate delivery services. A great buy on your furniture means little when it becomes a huge problem in the delivery process and/or arrives to you damaged.
